HCA Welcomes New Board Members

HCA welcomes three new members of our Board of Directors who were confirmed on May 8. The Board of Directors oversees HCA's policy, programmatic, advocacy, fiscal and education activities in consultation with HCA staff.

HCA's new Board Members are: Sue Larman, CEO of the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Albany; Sharon Phipps, Senior Director of Broome-County-based UHS Health Care System; and Vivian Torres-Suarez, Vice President for Children and Family Services and Acute Care for Bronx and Westchester at the Visiting Nurse Service of New York.

HCA's Emergency Preparedness Website

HCA's emergency preparedness website, www.homecareprepare.org, contains resources to assist home care providers in emergency preparedness planning, including a link to our Home Care Emergency Preparedness Manual. This legislative session, HCA is supporting a bill introduced in both the Senate and Assembly that would extend 'essential personnel' status to home care staff during declared emergencies.
